It seems as if the democrats continually put up candidates that can't win despite the fact that no one in their right mind would vote for the Republicans otherwise. Why is it that when the Repubican Party is absolutely horrid that the Democratic Party elects to run candidates that don't stand a chance in $ %@#$ ?

It seems that way to me too. I think most Democrats vote their principles. That is just not always a way to pick a popular canidate.

The power is in congress, not the white house. If they keep a republican as president, they can blame everything on him end up with more democrats in the house & senate. Every now & then, a democrat will be president & then the power changes in congress. It's gone back & forth like that for years.
Also, none of the decent democrats are going to put themselves through the campaign & media circus. It just isn't worth it when there's no real power at the end of the tunnel

I have no idea where you're getting your information, but you're dead wrong. Obama has an excellent chance of beating McCain, and the polls reflect that. Once Hillary supporters come on board, he's going to be the strong frontrunner.
