Back in August of 2003 I was involved in a truck accident in PA. I was driving and no one was seriously hurt, thank God. I am unable to drive now due to arthritis in my neck and back from the accident. I did not sue, but the company I drove for did. The companies finally settled after two years in the court, and I was found not at fault. (late 2005)
Now, I was not contacted in regards to any monetary compensation in result of their negligence and I think it's too late to sue now. I want to get a copy of the settlement, HOW?
And do you think there would have been money for me in their settlement?
At the time I was just grateful that no one was hurt.. and I kept working. Now I feel differently, and don't know who to contact or if I should. I live in OH the company I drove for is in OH, the other company is out of New York City and the accident happened in PA. Should I contact the company I drove for? Should I contact a lawyer to contact the company? I should add that the EPA showed up and the total cost to the drivers/company at fault totaled over half a mil. Boy, did I screw up by being naive, or what?

thats all your thing, you choose not to sue.... but yes there would have been settlement/compensation for your injuries..

If you made a medical claim shortly after the accident, then maybe it would be worth contacting your company, though if it's 4 years later, I don't know how much they'd do.

If you never told them that you had medical problems following the accident, then the settlement probably didn't include anything for your care, but only for the vehicles. Different states may have different deadlines to submit claims for damages, but it's three years in New York.
