Can I get fired for being out of work for over a week and not having any medical documentation? Reason I was unable to see a doctor is because I have no medical coverage/insurance and did not have any extra money to pay the $ 100 doctor fee's. If this does result in being terminated from employment would I still have a valid claim for unemployment and win my case? I'm worried I'll be without a job and possibly no money what so ever.

interesting case...apply and if they deny you..you can appeal and have a hearing to explain your case

Yes you can get fired for missing work. No you won't qualify for unemployment.

You were probably fired for job abandonment,

Apply; but odds are if the employer wants to fight it, you probably won't win

NOT IN THE STUPID STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

if that was/is a requirement for your job (medical documentation) and you didn't get it and are then terminated, you will not qualify for unemployment.
