Can you claim an adult on your taxes?

I have an adult, 25 years old, who did not work in 2008 because of injuries sustained in a car accident. I took care of her, feeding and clothing. Would I be able to claim her on my taxes?

If the adult is your relative (see the list), then
1. You must have provided more than half of the support and she must not earn more than $ 3,500 in 2008.

If adult is not a relative
1. She must live with you all the year,
2. You provided more than half of her support, and
3. she did not earn more than $ 3,500.
