Last week I was injured on my bike. I was riding at night on a sidewalk which abruptly ended in a mud hole. The front tire sunk and stuck into the mud then I went face first into a driveway. My head took a major jarring. My head was killing me. I didn't want to go to the ER, but eventually did and was treated for cuts, 5 stitches. I'm still having headaches. I don't want to be one of those people into frivolous lawsuits, but I do think I deserve some compensation for the pain and inconvenience. I have complained to the city that the least that could be done is to have that hole filled. A week later and have still had no actual response. Any advice?

if u want compensation the only way is by lawsuit. and if u don't have a medico-legal certificate to say what u had after the accident is going to be hard to do anything. and in this case u should think at something to did ur bike had lights, and u had a helmet? cause if u didn't have does it will be very easy for them to get away. u can take into lawsuits the city council or the company that takes care of the road but check if there were any signs around the hole.
