Basically A Adult Came Out Of His Car With A Base Ball Bat Threatening My 16 Year Old Friend.I Took A Picture With My Camera Phone.Now The Police Have Taken My Mobile Phone For Evidence.Could I Claim Compensation Being As They Have Had The Phone For Over A Month And I Have Had To Buy A New Phone?Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated.Thanks.

There should of been a way to download the picture and get you the phone back. Did you attempt to get your phone back before buying another one? Did you ever call to see what the status was? Asking the officer on the scene would do you no good. When an officer takes something as evidence it is turned over to the evidence custodian for storage until needed. If you never contacted the evidence custodian and told them otherwise they would not know you needed your phone back immediately or asap. As far as being reimbursed by the police for the phone it is not going to happen. It was taken as evidence and more than likely the case has been pled out. You can help the process along by calling to get an update on the status of your phone.
