Sorry hun....you have to have proof. Get a free consultation with a lawyer and find out more of what you can do.

hey buddy how do you do. Well, in my opinion law is a SIMPLE THING: if you've done something wrong, and you know that you know in case you have...
(and i'm sure you haven't of course...)
than if you have done something wrong - you can only hope there's no concrete evidence left against you...
whatever be the case, MY ADVICE IS: don't lie to the system outright...
Over here in my country we have a saying:
if you pi** on the system - the system will get wet
if the system pi**es on you - you are likely to drown...
[pardon my language, but that's how the saying goes]
good luck...

This individual said they "SUSPECTED YOU" not that you did.
Get over it and go on with your life.
If I sued people for saying all the things thay have said about me, I would not be able to work.
Consider the source and leave this individual alone.

The only person you need to sue is your English teacher. If you do, you are going to win; for sure.

If she acted in earnst you will not be able to recover. The burden of proof falls on you to show beyond a question of law that the person acted specifically to do you harm. You will need a lot of money to win a suit like that because if you can prove that she filed wrongfully against you and you were not harmed by the law then you still won't win. You have to suffer some loss and be able to prove it, like serving time in jail when you are accused of rape by someone that knew you did not do it, or losing your job (but the boss has to actually fire you for the very reason that you are suing her, it can not be coincidental). You are better off learning a lesson and moving on. This type of case would take years in a court of law, and if it did settle you would not recover your lawyer's fees in most instances. You might win $ 1,000.00 if you proved the facts to substantiate your case, but your lawyer fees and court costs would be in excess of $ 10,000.00, so you are probably better off defending yourself by explaining that you are innocent and make sure you clear your name. If you make too much out of it, some snake in the grass from your own past could show up to enjoin the complaint proving more questions against you. Also, if she acted in the behaviors a reasonable person would have acted in under similar circumstances she would not have slandered you, she only thought it was you and went forward. Since the 9-1-1 incident citizens are encouraged to go forward with any questionable activities and let the law sort it out.
