I injured my knee at work 6 months ago. And had surgery for a chondral fracture. My latest MRI shows, Chondromalacia, and cartilage degeneration. Water on the knee from a Baker`s cyst. And post traumatic arthritis. I work in corrections. And we have no light duty posts at my institution. So my choice is go back to work and say I`m better. Although I`m not. Or stay out of work collect and try and settle with my employer somewhere down the road. I enjoy my job and my friends that I work with! But I do not trust management to do right by me. If and when I have further knee problems in the future! As I`ve seen in the past. If you return and have problems. They will say its a new injury and deny your claim. So I feel damned if I do. Or damned if I don`t! Anybody that`s been here feel free to relate your experiences. Thanks!

I wouldn't continue to work for a company that I didn't trust.

Seriously, if you are paranoid about them, look for another job.

You need to see a workers comp attorney.

In no way would I trust an employer to do right by me. I have seen too many files come across my desk of people who got the shaft from their employer and their workers comp insurance.

An attorney will protect your rights.

corrections if i am not mistaken is a government job and you should just bend over and kiss your career good bye and hope you get a good attorney to help you

Answer by PARKERD
If you work in Corrections you should have a union. Check with them.
