Is an injury claim worth it?

I had an accident at work over a month ago - I fell off a broken chair onto my ass.
A&E didn't take x-rays & said I probably just bruised it & sent me on my way. My GP said the same thing.

Unsatisfied, I went to a physio who found my pelvis was out of alignment. She sent me for x-rays which proved there was no fracture.

I have only returned to work this week (after 4 weeks & many physio sessions to re-align my pelvis).
I am still in pain, feeling constant pressure at the base of my spine.
I am not able to sit on a chair for more than 4 hours straight (It is extremely painful and I am living on painkillers to bear it).

My friends have said I should make a claim for compensation.
Unfortunately my job involves sitting on a chair all day.
Work has paid all my medical expenses, but I'm worried that this is a long term thing.

What should I do?
PS. I am in the UK - I am worried about making a claim against the company, as I need to approach them for a work permit to stay...
I understand they are insured against claims, but I still feel like I would be essentially "sueing" them...

It's definitely worth making the claim. You never know what will evolve from your injury. You may have some serious problems in the future and you want to "cover your ass" now.

If you're in the US, workers comp should be paying for your injury & neither you nor your employer should be worrying about the payment for necessary medical services. Workers comp is a insurance program designed to cover work place injuries so you & your employer don't have to. The only thing you need to worry about doing is getting the care that you need to get better! Good luck to you.

you need a MD will to collaborate your claim and be willing to testify in court that your injury is permanent and you cannot work

You should make a claim for compensation but be aware that this will mean the end of your career at this company...
