My "friend" and I moved in to a Madison apartment March 5th, we both signed the lease stating we are both responsible of paying rent of $ 1025 a month. We set up our account together under both our names, verbally agreeing each of us to pay half Monthly. I moved in a week later and he told me he was going to move in asap. I payed the full $ 1000+, lending him his $ 500 share. He dragged it out a month and a half later assuring me he will move in and pay rent he owed me and future rent, just recently I went looking for him for the "late" rent from April; I payed my half in but I'm still looking at going to court for "delinquent rent" because he refuses to put his half in. The office lady from our Madison apartment complex gave him a call and told him they are still waiting for his share and warned him if he does not pay WE will be heading to court for our "delinquent rent". I immidiatly gave the 60 day prior letter telling them I was going to buy out the contract because there was no way I could afford $ 1000+ monthly. She told me I could send him to Small claims court to try to get him to pay at least Half of the buy out Fee witch consist of 4 months worth of his share of the rent, the first month he owes me, the second month he refused to pay & the 2 months that I have to pay in order of buying out + the buy out fee which is a months worth ($ 1,000). I wanted to avoid going to court against "Madison Apartments" at all cost. So I just recently took a loan out to pay off all expenses to avoid court. I have proof of months payed under my name and currently making a folder to prove my case; we also set up a joint account under his name and mines togeter, which clearly sends the message that he was willing to pay a % of the rent, I'm at least looking for 50% reimbursmemt of the loan I took out to pay prior rent owed And buyout fee, What are my chances of winning in the small claims court, I feel comfortable on my chances but still will take any feedback gratefully!.

No. The judge will throw you out of court before you finish your story.
