There isn't a number they look up in a catalog. It depends on your medical bills, loss of wages, and how much pain you say you were in and for how long. Their objective is to pay you as little as possible. If you don't like their offer you can try to negotiate a higher settlement yourself or hire a lawyer, take them to court, and let a judge and jury decide what's fair.

Direct Line do not have fixed prices for whiplash compensation.
Where are you suffering from? Do you have neck, back or shoulder injuries?
Have you already been to the Drs or Hospital within 2 weeks of your accident?
Who is responsible for the accident? If the accident wasn't your fault, you can claim on a No Win No Fee basis, which means that you pay nothing whether you win or lose.
