I work in a scottish solicitor's firm and lately there has been quite a few people being paid off. My boss does not seem to like me for some reason, maybe it's because he thinks he's better but who knows. What's occurred to me is that I am having my 3 month probationary meeting tomorrow to find out whether I am being kept on or not. I get the feeling I will not be kept on due to redundancies lately and the fact that I don't seem very interested in the job. What are the chances that I will recieve a severance package since I am actually still in my probationary period? No spam please. Proper answers would be appreciated. thanks

I wouldn't think that they would give it to you if you were still on probation. I know in the Us they have unemployment and you are eligible for that after you have worked at the same place for 6 months that's isn't as good by far but it is something.

You are a temporary staff and therefore not entitled for severence package. By chance even if you are retained by extending your probationary period, I would advise you to search for another job which is interesting to you.
