I'm on the Do Not Call list, but I've gotten 3 phone calls in the last week from "retrieval matchers" The message says that it is "an important business call. This is not a sales call." It is prerecorded and says to call an 800 number. Does anyone know what this is?

Go ahead and call the number.
Try to talk to a human any way you can. The very first thing out of you mouth is "what is your name?".
If you can find a way to record the conversation, even better. Just be sure you tell him (after you have got his name, of course) that you will be recording the call.
Be sure to write down the name and current time/date.
Then find out what the important business is. If it's a sales call, remind the person that you are on the do not call list, and that they are in violation. If they call again you will file legal action.
Keep your logs! Keep your phone bills if they show the incoming calls from these folks, and your outgoing call you just make.
If they call again, call up an attorney and see if he'd like to make some easy money.
I know of a local attorney who just got his bar license. He's currently making most of his money sueing do-not-call and do-not-fax people. He doesn't charge the client until he wins the suit.
Call around, you will find a similar attorney.
