I am 14, doing work experience in a medium solicitors firm. There was an arranged trip to a high court which I went to today with a fellow work exp girl (16) and a clerk.
The clerk and I left her afterwards as she had to meet with someone. I was unsure of the way back to the station so I asked him to drop me off back there. I told him I wanted to stay out longer and, as he had work to do, he could leave me as I know the area well.
Imagine my shock when my school rep called to tell me I was let off work tomorrow (friday) and that my employer was deeply displeased, as, by not going home with the clerk, I had apparently put him in a "very awkward position" and whats more instead of a parent signature saying i could go on the trip, i'd given my own instead (i misread). My employer was all set to drop me but I have a talk with my school rep tomorrow to see if i can save my second week.
Its my fault, not his. What matters to me is getting the job back... advice/ opinions desperately needed!!

The first guy is just spamming.
I don't really understand what you did that would be a firing offense. Did the clerk not know the way home, or what?

Firstly calm down!
Logic
There are two issues
1. Why you left court early and without the clerk.
You have an explanation. Set out clearly. Make sure that you did not, expressly, and more importantly imply, that you intended not going back directly.
Make sure you explain that there was good grounds for you to leave and do whatever you did. It would be helpful to say that the clerk was informed all along as to what you were doing. He was incharge of you and ought to have told you there and then not to do it. He agreed with your suggestion and you had no reason to believe that what you were doing was wrong. Had it been wrong, he ought to have told you 'No' at the time and you most certainly would have followed what he said.
2) Signature on note.
Explain why you believed that you could sign on behalf or your parents. It is tough one but you seem to have that covered too - so just explain it calmly and clearly as to how it happened and that will be your defence
good luck
