okay... suppose there is a trial going on and i am a lawyer for the defense. i just found new evidense, and the trial starts tomorrow. Can i show the lawyer for the prosecution the evidense tomorrow and still use it or is it out? Thanks, again.

During the trial phase he would be REQUIRED to do so.

He is required to notify the prosecution before the trial about any witnesses or evidence that he has planned to use.
