b/c i was in a car accident in newjersey (i was visiting) but i live in Ga. and i couldnt start any treatment or case without the police report. i just recieved the police report. but im just wondering is it to late??????????

It depends on each state's statute of limitations but generally it's usually one year from the date of the accident.

If it just happened, you should be fine. You could have reported it immediately after it happened. They have should been able to give you a copy of the police report immediately after they assessed the scene. There shouldn't have been any reason for you to wait. Just call your insurance company and explain that you were waiting on the police report and you'll be fine. They might be skeptical if you had any medical injuries.

Actually you should have contaced an attorney that day, and if you was unable to, you should have done it the very day you were able to. Lawyers and insurance companies have a faster and easier way of getting police reports that we do. You will have to check the statutes of limitations and see what the overcoming circumstances are, and if nothing else find a accident lawyer.,
