heres my story i am 27 f w/ severel pain causing conditions first a back problem resulting from a spleen injury at 14 2nd chronic kidney stones my back problem is under control and i do pt 2 times a week.Now the stones have come back and im under a urologist care i also have unexplained chronic pelvic pain told it may be intercystcial cycstis.I am seeing a stone specialist for the first time my reg urologist gave me percocet but im runing out and thet did help with at least some of the pain i cant imanange being without it right now do you think they will continue to help control my pain im scared they wont refill (I know this is a rediculous questuin to be asking but i appecreate peoples thoughts opions and personal experences)he said they may want to remove the stones i dont know why i suffer such severe horrible pain i just want to know do they have to keep treating your pain or can they decide that yoiu dont need pain meds even though you wish there was some way of having them

Honestly, its going to be up to your individual doctor. I think your best bet is to let him/her know that you are in continued pain and that the pain medication does help to relieve it. I can't imagine why they wouldn't refill it at least until you have the surgery to remove the stones. As long as you're taking it as prescribed and aren't asking for a refill much sooner than as prescribed I think they should give you pain management until a permanent solution is found.
It wouldn't make sense to me that the doctor would prescribe it once and then say that you don't need it. The doctor most likely didn't put refills on the bottle because of laws stating that you need a new prescription for every controlled substance. So you'll have to go in for another appointment to get the refill but if you need it I can't see why they wouldn't give it to you.
