Hi,
Workers' comp is mandated for almost all employers (a few minor excepts) in all 50 states, U.S. territories and all state & federal employees. WC covers injuries sustained in the course of your doing your job. It doesn't matter who's at fault. All of the states have different laws/rules about what qualifies and what doesn't. For example, some states offer coverage for "psych./stress claims" without any physical injury while others do not. I haven't heard of employer indemnity accident policy, but have heard of employment practices liability insurance...which covers a business in the event that an employee sues the company for wrong doing...like sexual harassment...discrimination of any sort. Hope this helps.

Workers comp covers you only for accidents occurred during the work day. An employer indemnity plan will cover you 24/7 (both in work and out of work).
