to every item and every race listed on every ballot?
Where I am from, some of the bond issues and ballot issues are written so poorly they can be interpreted by the bureaucrats as needed no matter how the voters voted. In other words, either way you vote you are approving an expansion of government and expenditure of taxes. Also, one particular political party is so in control of the PROCESS many races/available positions remain unchallenged by the "opposing" political party for lack of someone taking themselves seriously as an opposing party representative or candidate. There is also a media fueled myth that it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to win local and state wide races. I assert all it takes is the money to mass photo copy and personally distribute an easily understood well thought out, one page only, value statement of how you evaluate an issue and will cast your vote, and a list of positions you won't deviate from. For example I will vote for no legislation that approves more taxation or higher fees without an equal reduction somewhere else. Examples might be, I support adding "none of the above" as a choice on all ballot items and races. I will introduce legislation that disqualifies lawyers from writing laws, or running for elective office.
