I'm Mexican, I'm 29 years old, I have a Law degree in Mexico. I've never been able to actually work as a lawyer because it's impossible to be a lawyer without organized crime getting their cut.

I've been working for the last 10 years as an English teacher, and I volunteer to teach Hebrew for free.

In Mexico, if you are lucky enough to work as a lawyer and not paying a fee to organized crime. You need to win your cases using bribery. It's against Moses Law for a lawyer, governor, or policeman to be crooked. I can't be a lawyer in Mexico.

Exodus 23:8
And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

The USA will give a student VISA to pretty much anyone who can pay for their tuition. I could study to be a paralegal in the USA. But having a degree in Paralegal Studies will not guarantee I'll get a work VISA in the USA, I know American are not big on one particular commandment:

Deuteronomy 10:19
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt

Should I study to be a paralegal in the USA?

The US already has WAY TOO MANY UNemployed people. We simply can not take everyone into this country and promise all of them jobs when people whose families have lived here for generations can NOT find jobs, can not pay for homes, can NOT put food on the table.

Do NOT count on finding a job here even if you do get the training you seek.

No........US hires its own first...........consider this...........law sucks..........and.........56 thousand law degrees are awarded each year........with thousands in the pipe line......law is and will be saturated for years and years.........get something in the health field and you won't have to starve trying to pay off your 200K student loan........just look in the yellow pages under lawyers. ...page after page of attorneys begging for work..........watch TV……loaded with law firms begging for any kind of law suit…just to feed their kids………. the new software can do 90% of what you would hire a lawyer to do.........for $ 40 bucks........Legal self help just opened in our court house in Feb 2010 they have serviced 900 legal issues in 5 months without the assistance of attorneys……what does that tell you…….go into health care and never want for a good job……..Check this out…
