I called their accountant to see what it was about and they said they would investigate it. I've called them but have received no response. What can I do at this point? I didn't receive the compensation they're claiming on that form. (it's $ 884)
I stopped working with them in 2008. I was always w-2 status. I never dealt with them in 2009, but they're claiming $ 884 in nonemployee compensation for that year.

maybe you forgot since it was such a small amount? or you worked for someone you did not realize it would be classified as self employed income?
most bookkeepers have checks and balances and avoid strange, mysterious charges that cannot be accounted for

Keep calling. If you were a W-2 employee, they have to put everything on the W-2, they can't split anything off to a 1099-Misc (unless you are dead and clearly you aren't).

What do you think? Answer below!

Orignal From: I received a 1099 misc from one of my previous employers but didn't receive the compensation they claim?
