I was buying a Public house lease. The process ended in March 2009 with the result of myself not completing the purchase due to a whole list of dilapidation's from the brewery not being completed, I was not prepared to incur these costs myself so informed the other party of my reasons.
Since this time I have found out that their VAT reports had been faked to make the Business look like a more profitable one.
I would not have even considered purchasing the lease if I had seen the actual figures.
This was as a private sale of the lease, with the brewery's consent and was in the UK.
The question I have is this, I en curred £10,000 of legal fees that I am now unable to pay due to their misleading me, can I sue them and have them pay the legal fees?

In theory I would say you do have a case but you will need to appoint more solicitors to do it thus incurring more costs and, of course, further risk of expense if you lose your case.
