what does exceeding mean in this case? its to do with my compensation claim. does it mean more than a thousand or upto a thousand. please help before i sign!

It does mean more then £1000.
" A claim for personal injury exceeding £1000" = " a claim for personal injury more than £1000.
eceeding means more than.
