I was the director of a company in the UK about 2 or 3 years ago. I now live abroad. The company went in liquidation in 2005 and i answered all questions to the official recievers. They always had my contact email and mobile phone numbers. Now i've been 'tracked' down by another firm of solicitors who have written to different people i know and even written to addresses i don't even know of assuming i live there. They have told everyone in their letters which country i have moved to which i wanted private for personal reasons.

The questions they are asking me i already answered 2 years ago to the recievers.

Is this legal ? Do i have any options to deal with this ?

They found me via the internet in 1 particular case through a website of a martial arts club i belong to then wrote to the club... This club was going to entrust me to open a dojo in the country i am now resident and this now looks in jeapourdy because it looks like i have been hiding from the law.

Please help!

Simply explain the situation to the club and that should clear up the issue.

This could hound you for a lot of your life.

You don't really know what the interests are of this other bunch of lawyers. You need to get legal representation to find out what it is they REALLY are after.

If the questions are identical, then perhaps your lawyer can get the first bunch of lawyers to give the second bunch of lawyers access to your prior depositions.

We live in a world where people want privacy, but it is a fantasy. Just about anyone can contact any address, any data base, put information in there that is false about you, and you not know it.

When you get a lawyer to seek relief in the form of the second bunch of lawyers getting access to the depositions you made to the first bunch of lawyers, also ask your lawyer what relief you can get against their harrassment ... asking you questions you have already answered. How long does this have to go on ... years from now a third bunch of lawyers asking the same bunch of questions.

You may be able to get a court order banning the second bunch of lawyers from doing the stuff that is annoying you.

The notion that you are hiding from the law is slander, libel, damaging to your reputation. If you can prove that this notion came to the martial arts club from the second bunch of lawyers, then you have basis for a multi million dollar law suit against them.
