A cheque was sent to our old address, the new owner opened the letter and found a cheque for quite a large amount. Her husband then threw the letter away including the cheque. The cheque was for a compensation claim made 5 years ago. I've traced the previous cheque back to the bank but it was a Bankers draft, so no solicitors details. Will the bank realise the cheque hasn't been cashed and contact us again? What else can I do to try and trace the Solicitors who sent it to us? I'm at my wits end and really cross at the trouble caused by someone elses stupidity.

Go to the bank: explain the happening: positively there is no chance for encasement by other persons: they will help you to get a duplicate: but you have to submit some documents.. guarantee, indemnity & etc;
