I am being taken to court for careless driving, i drive for a living and have young children to support,i accept full blame for the accident, but want to hire a solicitor to fight my corner as if i lose my license i lose my job, does anyone know how much its likely to cost, i live in england

it depends on how good the solicitor is and how much work he has to do ..
but all the courts have duty solicitors who you can speak to before your case is called and who will represent you for free

When you attend court ask to speak to the duty solicitor and he will speak to you and act on your behalf free of charge.

If you wish to engage a solicitor prior to the case then look in yellow pages and find a local firm who deal with criminal law. Give them a call and explain your circumstances and they will advise you on whether you are eligible for legal aid and if so assist you in completing the claims.

How much do you have? Write a cheque for that amount and give it to him. .

If they are on a street corner, about 100 pounds an hour. If they are sitting behind a desk in an office, about 200 pounds an hour. Either way you will get screwed.
