How do you kindly turn down the solicitors at the door, including religious, sales men and people who are fund-raising?
Answer by Glo★
I am not interested thank you for stopping. Shut the door.

With a sign on my front door that says "No Soliciting".

To fund raisers and salesmen: "Thank you for stopping by; but right now I'm unable to make any committments." You can always mention that money's tight when salesmen give their pitch. For religious people, be especially nice to them since they do mean well. You can even take their literature if they offer it to you for free. The important thing here is always to be polite to these folks.

I always keep a few boxes of overpriced Girl Scout cookies handy that I offer for sale to people who are trying to sell stuff to me. And my cookies are far more outrageously priced then anything they have.

First of all, I don't answer the door (that's what peepholes are for) but if I do by mistake, I just tell them, "Thank you but I'm not interested" and close the door. Sometimes it means interrupting the fast talking ones but that's too bad.

Well that depends....
If it is a Jehova's Witness I open the door, don't speak a word, look at them, and then slam thed oor on them....
Honestly, Do not come to my house to try to brainwash my family with that atrocious religion.

You NEVER EVER open the door, that's the first line of defense and you tell them you never ever ever do any business off the street, tell them if they are soliciting they need to send you info via the mail, and that is snail mail not email.
