What i mean is.....I once saw an article (I wish i had it at hand now) to which the headline said "Hey girls, it is now easier to get a pre-prenup than ever before....Say goodbye to arguing over who gets to keep the Celine Dion CD"

To me, this got frighteningly close to one of those commercials on TV

e.g "Have you had an accident at work?? Call the national accident helpline"

e.g "Are you paying too much for your car insurance?? Call directline"

e.g "Are you broke and need a man to give you all his own hard earnt cash?? The new pre-prenup is now easier than ever before"

lol I gotta say, sometimes i wonder if Sharia law is actually that bad an idea.
@Dark Eyes- Not "Pre-nuptials"..."Pre-pre-nuptials"<-- This is when a man doesn't even have to be married to get robbed. And the advertisement i mentioned was an example of scary its become.....To advertise alimony or something like that.
@Dark Eyes- Lmao, no, babe, listen to me....It is not a commercial. I just saw an article with a headline (The one i mentioned at the top) which SOUNDED scarily close to becoming a commercial lol.
@Catalina- I think the point is, that what belongs to him, does not belong to her. Why do things have to be divided equally?? If its his, it means its not hers to take. There's putting effort into a relationship, and then there's plain old theft :-)

But...but...I wouldn't know when to eat McDonalds if the ads don't tell me to try it. :( Yum, I can go for a cheeseburger right about now. ^_^

A bit? You can't escape it. It's literally everywhere. In movies, in news stories, in tv shows and not just the commercials it's stuck inside shows so subtly you may not even realize. But once you know it's there you realize it's everywhere like an infection. On the sidewalks, in the bus, on the train, in text messages, on the inside covers of books, the list could go on and on.

We've always been a bit about advertisement...O.o

If they didn't work, they wouldn't keep producing them...

One of my favorites is Safe Auto... Just for sh*ts and giggles, I gave them a call... There costs were much higher, and the coverage was less than my current insurance company.

Another one is all the "Cash for Gold"... O.o I'm keeping my gold, thank you very much... Why wouldn't I? The U.S. is supposed to have enough gold in the Federal Reserve to match the amount of money in circulation... *note... I said supposed to...

"Are you broke and need a man to give you all his own hard earnt cash? The new pre-prenup is now easier than ever before"

Hmmm... I don't get it. Then again, I earn my own cash and would rather have a companion, than an ATM...

P.S. Pre-nuptials are nothing, if you start out with nothing...which most "regular" people do.

EDIT: I've never heard, or seen that commercial... Is it for a law office? Them b*stards will do anything to make a buck...

Do you know how copper wire was invented...?

Two lawyers fighting over a penny=P

Inasmuch as our economic structure is a free market economy, the financial cash cows of matrimony (initiation) and divorce (termination) is a commercially driven free market enterprise as well. Why? Because pre-nuptial agreements have taken center stage as a safety net that secures an individual's most cherished possessions (their material belongings) therefore we shouldn't be surprised at the fact that commercialism has invaded the marriage market, of course it has.

Reason: when the struggles of duel partnership become overwhelming people are more interested in saving their personal items than saving their marriages.

Ehh..it's good for the economy. They pay to broadcast their commercials or advertise them in print which leads to paying millions in taxes. People than go out out and buy the products which means they'll expand and hire more employees. Sometimes I think they can take it too far usually when they attempt to be funny but it doesn't really affect me.

With unequal hiring practices and a massive wage gap we need all the financial leverage we can get. Women put a lot of blood sweat and tears into relationships and if the couple is living together large assets like furniture, appliances, (which both are very expensive) and other items are usually merged. Should we just rely on trust and goodwill to have those assets equally divided upon separation? What if the male is abusive, do you think he will just willingly give her what belongs to her?
