With a solicitor, you can bet it will be 12 - 18 months. It's not going to be fast, and NOTHING happens until you've FINISHED all your medical treatment.

Manchester City Footballer Nigel de Jong Set to Face Personal Injury Claim
Article by Paul Rooney Solicitors
Manchester City footballer Nigel de Jong could be subjected to a personal injury claim following an on-the-field incident during a Premiership match earlier this month. The Dutch international was playing in City's game against Newcastle United on 2nd October when he was involved in a challenge with Hatem Ben Arfa, which left the on-loan star with a broken leg.Ben Arfa is now set to miss the rest of the Premiership season, with medical assessments estimating his injury will keep him on the sidelines for up to six months. However, the Frenchman's parent club Marseille are now considering taking legal action against de Jong, with Marseille chairman Jean-Claude Dassier saying: "We will file a complaint against de Jong. It's about getting rid of this type of individual from European grounds."Although Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has come out in defence of his star midfielder, de Jong has faced a backlash over the incident in his homeland of the Netherlands, which resulted in the national team coach Bert van Marwijk dropping the player from his squad for the recent Euro 2010 qualifiers.Michel D'Hooghe, chairman of FIFA's medical committee, has warned that "brutal" tackles on the pitch could cause personal injury severe enough to end a player's career, saying: "Some players come on the field... simply to provoke injuries in other persons - to break a career."The nature of a contact sport such a football means that there is always a risk of personal injury. However, all sports players have a duty not to deliberately injure another player, or conduct themselves in a dangerous manner that is likely to cause injury to others. If you feel you have been deliberately injured during any kind of sporting activity, Paul Rooney personal injury solicitors could help you make a successful compensation claim.Ref: PRS-HS-1510101
