Late last year I broke up with my partner. I have tried to sort out access arrangements for my son with her, but she has started to refer me to her solicitor.

Her solicitor contacted me once and advised me not to contact my ex again. In the same letter I was told that any access arrangements should be made to him. I've contacted him by letter several times over the last 2 months to try to find a resolution – but he doesn't respond to any of my correspondence. My ex is not interested and will not do anything about it.

Is he actually allowed to ignore my letters like that? If not, who should I complain to about him? (BTW I'm in the UK).

You should get your own solicitor and have them contact
her solicitor, so that he can not ignore you any further.

You do not have a solicitor, so he thinks that you have no
recourse to make him pay any attention to you.

His behavior is inappropriate as a professional.

Have your solicitor file for visitation or modification
of visitation, and he will have to answer.

His only solid defense is that he no longer represents her,
but if that is the case....you have a letter to prove otherwise.

In the U.S., he would be in trouble with the bar association.

I have no idea who you would report him to in the U.K.

I would find a solicitor and get busy making him pay
attention.

Best wishes
