I received a drug felony charge back in Mar 1999. Since then I have done 5 yrs probation, paid all the fines associated with my conviction, and have not been in trouble with the law since. My question is I stumbled onto a website called Clearmyrecord.com. They claim that for a fee of around 400.00 they can clear every trace of my felony off every computer in the state of Texas where I live. I meet their criteria, being as my arrest did not involve a minor and I have not been convicted again. Basically I guess my record would be expunged. Does anybody know if this is possible? Should I trust this website and do it? I have no other options available and this felony charge keeps me from the jobs I want. Currently I have to work as an independent contractor where my record is not an issue. Will this get erased from the DMV report? I would really like to get a job driving but the last time I checked at the DMV office....It said Felony Charge on the report.

I would be cautious before plunking down the $ 400. Maybe check with the better business bureau about the company? Or touch base with a lawyer or the court system to see if something like this is possible?
Good luck!

HIGHLY DOUBTFUL...
I work as a 911 dispatcher. The police have TONS OF INFORMATION on anyone who has ever been booked, charged, exonerated or found guilty. IMPOSSIBLE...

First I would check with the Better Business Bureau to see if this company has any complaints against them. Secondly, I would write to a judge in your county and ask him the questions above. He may be able to tell you what you should do. Look under Government in the white pages and then superior court for a number to call to find a judges name.

I think you would be out the 400 and still have the felony conviction on your record. Once convicted I don't think there is any legal way to remove it. A charge is different than a conviction.

You could try it yourself.
I'm not sure of Texas laws, but here's info on the process in California.
