the will turned up a few weeks ago after the person died in 2002 of which when we took out the mortgage we got endowment, the house was stood empty for a few years and then sold ? but by who ? been in contact with solicitors but failed to find original will looks a bit shady to me,then they informed me the property was repossess and then resold
how can they repossess a property from a deceased person.( uk) i was his girlfriend and the will clearly states that everthing was left to me even though i left the property a few years later and removed my name from the mortgage.
when we took out the mortgage endowment was included,so if either party died the mortgage would be paid off, thats why we think the property was stood empty for a couple of years waitng for a a beneficiary to come forward

If no one was continuing to make the mortgage payments then the house is repossessed.

Sounds like nobody ever paid the property taxes and it was seized because of that.

Assuming you have a land registry office, check there first.

Go to the town clerks office in the town the property is located and look at the land records.

you are getting good advice. the sale and repossession of a home is all a matter of public records. You can visit the local court house or library that holds that information, and request it. You will likely have to do some actually research on it to identify the process.
