I felt he did not get any facts as to how my workmans' compensation injury happened. He did not request work records, visit job site or contacted the company that abated the mold that I was in contact with? There was also numerous witnesses that he could have contacted. Instead, he asked me to take a really low settlement that the company offered. Low as in I made almost that amount in a month while working.

BAR association can punish him. Google your state bar association contact number.

Get another attorney ASAP (especially with workers' comp experience).
You may need to have your new attorney ask for a continuance.
Consider suing your old attorney for malpractice.

You need to get another attorney fast. Get one of those ambulance chasing basta*ds they have on TV that specialize in denials of workers comp. He can get an extension from the court because your lawyer quit. Your 1st scumbag lawyer was probably paid off by your company to quit. Even though it us unlawful and unethical and he could be disbarred if it were ever made public, at the end of the day he is still a scumbag lawyer.

First, call your local (usually county) bar association. Tell them what happened. Ask them about:
getting another attorney as soon a possible. If you have to, get the phone number for your local LegalAid; and
filing a "grievance against your old attorney.

YES! call the BAR but whatever you do, don't miss that hearing! This happened to me, MY attorney was held over by another Judge and wouldn't release him to go to mine. Explain to the judge about this guy quitting on you, and ask if you can have a continuance until you can get another lawyer!
