An auto repair shop was paid to check out why the check engine light and "repair" light were lit up on a customer's car. The shops mechanic just said that he re-set the car's computer and now the lights were off, and the reason for the light being on was not important because these kinds of car's computer's often go on for no reason. Within a short while the entire engine and tranmssion blow up on the freeway. Later it is verified that this was the case because the tranmssion's fluid had not been changed and that is why the check engine and repair light were on. The repairs cost around $ 5,000 .
It costs about $ 85.00 to file in small claims court, is it worth it or not ?
also after the entire transmission and engine were destroyed, the mechanic gives the customer an estimate for a tranmssion fluid change as a remedy to the problem, and tells the customer that they should have done the maintenance
How can you prove the mechanic was at fualt?

If you can prove the mechanic was at fault, then definitely yes, sue. If you don't have proof the mechanic was at fault, then save your money and put it towards a new car.
