So I live in Ontario, Canada but i'm pretty sure it's the same in many places. Anyways I had a car accident 2 months ago and finally decided to put a claim on it, it's late but lawyer says it's okay because i simply couldn't due to my injuries. Anyways, i was working before the accident. I met my lawyer for the first time today and we didn't get to talk numbers too much. I know settlements take at least a year will i be seeing any amount before that to be able to pay for my expenses? I'd call my lawyer tomorrow to confirm but i'm just curious

No.
The insurance company does not make payments as you go along. They are not going to finance your claim.
You will not see any money until the claim settles - you sign a release and your attorney distributes the funds.
