Hi,
I received a hand delivered letter from my insurance company today saying that a firm of solicitors (the very one that I work for) have reported an accident in December round the corner from me and asks me to call the case handler on their mobile.
I didn't have an accident, nor did I witness one so I am a bit scared here. What the hell is going on?
It is a bit of a coincidence that the firm I work for has reported an accident down the road from me.
The letter sounds really accusational but like I said, I wasn't involved in one.
Ideas?? Theories??
Thanks
Theoretically, if I found the person who made the report, what should I do?? Hire a private investigator??

Call them and find out whats involved then.
If its nothing to do with you theres not a lot to worry about.
Sounds to me as if somebody in your firm is playing a trick on you.
If it was genuine you would not be given a mobile number to call you would get a landline number.
No insurance company gives out mobile numbers.

DO NOT MAKE ONE SINGLE CALL TO THIS PERSON!!!!!
Don't be pushed around into something you should not do. Ring your insurance company and tell them, follow their instructions and let them make ALL enquiries on your behalf.
Forward ALL future mail to them as well. Make it clear that you have not had an accident.
If you have doubts then email me but don't make that call.

Because it is just around the corner from you, and you work at the same firm as the person that had the accident, they want you, seening that you are a valued employee, to sat you saw the accident, and then lie for them. reason, the person who had the accident, was one of there co-worker, and by you saying you saw everthing, your statement will cover up an alledge hit and run, to where your co-worker was at fault. Now , by you lieing for the company, and the drunk driver, he is off the hook, and if anythung comes out of the woods, and say that there was no one ther, now its your word[a lie ]aganist the eye witness. your fired, because you intentinally lied, got caught, and now you are being sued by the other occupants car and you are financially distroyed. solution, report that you saw no accident to your superiors, and keep a copy for yourself, and walk away from it . keep all your communications you receive, concerning this issue, just incase, all this blows up in your face, you are very well covered. WATCH YOUR BUTT ON THIS ONE, THER IS A SNAKE, BEHIND THIS ONE!!!

Call them. They will tell you what they need. Perhaps they are hoping since it's close to you that you saw or heard something. If you didn't have or witness an accident, tell them just that. By calling, your curiosity will be satisfied, although I'm not quite sure why "false accusations" is the first thing you think of.

Call "your" insurance agent and have him/her do the followup. Do not call the mobile number yourself. That is very suspicious.
You can just ignore the letter too. I do not believe that you are obligated legally to answer.
You say you work in a solicitors office. Give to one of them and get their advice.
