I won't go into too many details but a family member was assaulted in his own home in his bedroom by a man who walked in without permission. He was not hurt too badly just a few red marks on his neck but he was threatened with his life. The assault left him psychologically shocked and it affected him badly. won't go out now. The man got a two year prison sentence and pleaded guilty. He has been waiting to get compensation for two and a half years, he saw a doctor, and was referred for counselling he only went twice, because he couldn't face it.
How long will it take to get compensation sorted out.
The criminal injuries authority said they are waiting for doctors reports, this was 8 months ago.
CICA (is the compensation authority)

This isn't my area, but I'm going to suspect that he will need more than two sessions to prove a legitmate injury.
