I was confined in the hospital for one (1) month and home confinement for another month. I have a broken jaw and nine (9) pieces of my teeth are lost. Im still recuperating from the accident and everyday i felt pain. Im still visiting the hospital for regular check-up. I still can't eat solid foods. Please tell me how much should i ask for compensation. Thanks!!

Missing teeth are not replacable. ie is a permanent injury. a broken jaw bone could potentially lead to temporomandidular jount dysfunction (TMJ) which is kind of like arthritis as it can be really painful when eating, talking, etc. A sign of TMJ is a clicking sound when the jaw is moved. If you have this, inform your doctor and have him/her document the condition and inform you of the prognosis and any treatments that are required. I would say you are entitled to at least $ 40,000 to $ 60,000 (in terms of Canadian dollars). The amount though is dependent on how the legal system works there though and whatever currency it is actually based in - so I cannot really speculate on an amount due to you being in Saudi Arabia. Find out what similar cases have went for. This is known in legal jargon as "rule of precedent". This means that a new case will be judged based on older and similar cases. This ensures a more fair justice system to victims of similar unfortunate fates. Find out first how long you have to register a legal claim against the driver that hit you. In Canada, victims have 2 years to file the claim. This gives you the much needed time to hopefully recover and/or adapt to the new conditions that have been unfairly put onto your shoulders. Most lawyers here in Canada provide a free initial consultation of your case. If you are comfortable with a lawyer you have seen and fully understand theier fees / costs, then you can choose to hire them. I would recommend consulting with 2 to 3 lawyers if the consults are free. Pick the one you are most comfotable with and not necessarily the one who has the rock bottom lowest fees. Hopefully you can get family to help out with some of these things becuase it can be really frustrating and tiresome while trying to do all this while also trying to recover from the injuries. I rear-ended in a motor-vehicle-accident (MVA) last September and had a whiplash injury, so I have empathy for what you are going through. and I wish you all the best in a speedy recovery. God bless.
