I've had a major problem with both solicitors and religious peoples as of late who ignore the no soliciting sign on the door. If I don't answer the door they come back every hour til they talk to someone. They stay and ring the door bell for like 30 seconds after I shut the door.

Apparently No Soliciting signs have no legal baring in my area, but I did my research and if I put up a "no tresspassing" sign in my yard and on my front door, that's a crime to ignore.

The sales companies have said they were trained to ignore any and all signs and will continue to do so. The church has said they obey gods law over mans law. Here's my last resort:

I put up the no tresspassing signs, making it illegal to bug me, then the next door to door headache who ignores it gets to meet my fist, and I'm 6'4, 250 pounds, muscular, so they'll go flying.

And it's not like they can go to the police. What are they gonna say, "I was tresspassing on this guys private property, whom had signs up and warned me to stay away, and he hit me.?" We'd be in the back of the police car together, so do you think I could do this without fear of arrest?

Also, this IS a repost. Last time I asked everyone said to just call the police and report THEM for tresspassing. But they'll leave when they see I'm gonna call the cops and they'll be long gone by the time the cops arrive. And even if I report the company or church they say their with, that could be useless because I'm beginning to wonder if their even whom they claim to be, that would explain why they keep coming back here knowing they won't get anywhere. Seems that taking it into my own hands is my only option.

Oh, and please no comments about answering the door naked, I don't want to be a registered sex offender.

Answer you door cleaning a gun.

or

Ask them for their home address. When the don't want to give it to you, ask them if it because they don't want to be bugged at home?? Tell them...neither do I and slam the door.

or

Just answer the door cleaning a gun.

My big dog, who is as gentle as a lamb, has done more to deter them than anything else I've tried. There's a sign that states 'Guard Dog on duty, trespass at your own risk!' Few people like that idea.

In Texas, if somebody gets bit after passing a sign like that is out of luck and they know it. They stay away.

Just as a side note, you can call the police and tell them you are making a citizens arrest. If you are firm about it and identify the people, even a block away, they have to arrest them. The police won't tell you this but it is the case.

Wow, I have never heard of such things. You must be going nuts. Ok, lets look at this, I do belive they have to have permits to be able to go door to door. Check with your borough or city/county to see if a permit is required. If so, ask if whichever organization has filed one and inform them that they have abused their permit as you have signs clearly visible on your property for no tresspassing. Maybe they will revoke their permit.

Another thing, is get them to give you a name and address of the place they are soliciting from. Write them a letter and tell them you have a strict no tresspassing sign clearly visible on your property and their representatives are violating this. And include if it happens again, you WILL SUE THEM civilly and call the police for possible criminal tresspassing as now their organization has been notified. Maybe if they see you are going to such trouble, you mean business.

After trying those suggestions, why not call the cops? Especially when you show them copies of the letters letting their home organization know of your problem with their reps, signs clearly visible and as a final resort, are calling the cops for assistance.

After that dude, I have no idea. Maybe an electical fence? LOL LOL LOL. That'll get em. I know I used a fog horn for people that would not stop calling me and it worked.

Civil law. They're only allowed to approach your door if they have clear access. Build a fence; lock it.

Also.

Why bother trying the legal term of trespass if you're just going to punch them in the face anyway? Just, punch them in the face.

NB: Who advised you trespassing is a crime? At least, in my country, it's not.

Reporting it to the cops is still a good idea...if they get a number of calls regarding the same group maybe one of them will actually investigate it.

Often the 'bible thumpers' are actually looking for places to revisit and rob later.

In the US, a no trespassing sign is good and sufficient warning to all that this area is private property.

Good luck.
