I Filed a claim with the VA back in 2007 for a injury i suffered while in Iraq and was denied because i wasn't able to make it to my Appt back then. Well in jan of this year 2011 i got a letter from the VA regional office saying they had received new info supporting my claim for disability. well i went to my appt this time and was checked out. well when i go online and check the statues of my claim it keeps telling me this( Your claim is currently located with our rating activity) Is this a good thing? are is it just more paperwork and red tape to go through?

a lot of paperwork and tape to get through. Some things, I fought for two years to get. Others, went pretty quick.
At least it's with the people who review your claim to give you a rating. So that's a good thing

It means that your claim has made it through the process that determines if you have a service connected disability and has been passed on to the people who figure out what percentage you will be rated . You should be hearing the decision in 30 to 60 days. That is all you will be told when you check the status , so there is no point checking further. I have been dealing with the VA system going on 41 years and I have learned to be patient , they sometimes move at the speed of molasses in January. Good luck and thanks for serving.
