Fear of talking?

Hi I am a 42 year old woman who has suffered fear of talking for most of my life. Some times it is mild so often I can cope but at other times it comes so bad I can't cope like now. I start talking and I start shaking inside. I had to talk to a lawyer the other day about a compensation claim, I started off OK then my voice started going strange, I was shaking alittle then my whole body went into a violent shake, almost paralised with fear so I had to appologise to the lady. Sometimes I cope but mostly I can't. But just lately it is the worst ever, I've even woken up twice since December in a panic attack and the shakes can come where ever I am. I find it epecially hard to talk about person things. It doesn't matter if I know people or not. What is wrong with me and why does this happen, I hate it and feel I have no control over it. I'd like to have both skills. I carry myself confident, I stand tall and for the most people see me confident. If this fear would go then I would be OK.

YOU NEED TO GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! I don't know what mentally is causing it, but there's probably something that can be done.
Please go!!!

You suffer from a form of social phopia. I can relate. I have always dealt with the same sort of proplem. Please talk to a doctor as difficult as it will be just do it. Even a regular family doctor will help. You may feel alone but it is much more common than you realize.Good luck & get to that doctor!!
