I bought a house and used a certain law firm in my town. I just got a certified letter threatening legal action and it is from the firm I just used about 4 months ago. It's a different lawyer but the same firm. Isn't this a conflict on interest?

could be if the cases are related but not simply bc it's the same firm

No. They can't use any of your confidential information (because it violates your privilege), but they have every right to take a claim against you as well
