I bought a festival ticket for $ 220 last June for a friend... I have been waiting for the money since. I have a screen-shot with him on Facebook chat admitting that he owes me the money and that he will get it to me..... The same thing he has been saying since June. I have messages from months back asking for the money, and an email exchanged with his father explaining what the situation was. No compliance. How can I win in small claims court?

Most law suits are won or lost based solely on sworn testimony. You seem to have a bit supporting your sworn testimony. The problem may lie in the due date. Many such contracts do not have a specific date on which the money is due and so it is not overdue.

Just file it and see. Present all the evidence to the judge, tell your story and see what the judge says. It will cost you about $ 100 to file, but you can add that to the money owed to you.

it's been 6 months, you should have filed a small claims lawsuit 4 months ago.

If you want to win, you'll need evidence that he agreed to pay you back (the facebook page should be good) as well as evidence proving how much you paid for the ticket (e.g. a receipt).
