I am thinking about becoming an Avon rep, but I would like to know what the start-up cost is, and if you are successful. I have heard from some that Avon always misplaces orders, but I have to admit that sorce isn't always reliable! Please tell me your expirences with the company. (please no Mary Kay solicitors. I used to sell them and I hated the product)

i beleive it was 20 dollars start up. i sell with my mom so i give the books to my neighbours and friends. My mom does all the ordering and waht not but stuff is always backordered. this nice old woman across the street from me had to wait almost 3 weeks to get this pair of nail clippers she ordered. Also today our order came in and avon randomly charged us 17 dollars for lipglosses we never ordered and then one week they didnt even deliver the boxes.

Ring Avon and ask them sometimes they have promotions where you can join for free. It did Avon for years and totally loved it. I became a training representative and it was great and if you can get great cliental you will make alot of money out of it. Good luck. If you do have aproblem with your order a simple phone call to tell them about it usually gets the problem resolved.

I sold it years ago and back then a rep. made a lot more money. Now days it seems that there is a lot of work involved for much less money. What bothered me is that the brochures are printed a year ahead of time, and the trend setter reps (reps that represent 5 campaigns ahead) would sell a lot of the products before we knew they even came out. I understand wanted to be ahead of the game, but it got very frustrating when my customers would order things and I would find out they were backordered for weeks, and then just not available. A lot of headaches. Certainly not worth the time.

I just signed up recently and it cost 10 bucks; I really only wanted to sign up so that my mom and I could order products when we wanted, and maybe sometimes my other family members, but so far it's been okay to me - nothing wrong with the orders. My mom has ordered about 60 bucks or so in products each time, and with the profit I've made (10 to 20 bucks) I can order my own items essentially for "free".
I agree with the person above in saying that some products are shipped much later than ordered because of availability, but that's just the way it goes. Sometimes the product demand is greater than Avon expected, and sometimes products simply aren't available until a future Campaign.
You just have to make sure you say "no" to this program they offer called "Preferred Preview" that automatically ships you new products in advance + bills you for them -- that might be why the other person above was getting odd charges. It's completely optional, and the lady that signs you up will ask if you want to be included in the program or not.
Either way, if you were to run into a problem with an order, or payments/charges, all you have to do is call or email the customer service or your District Representative for help.
Hope that helps; I love Avon, and it's definitely worth it. :)

The start up cost is only $ 10. For this amount you get the books & other selling supplies for your first 2 orders with Avon (placed 2 weeks apart). You also get a welcome CD & an informational CD, and a box of 10 samples of one product. In your first order you get 50 paper delivery bags.
I have sold avon for 4 years. I am a successful recruiter & top seller in my district. It is easy to sell these products because of their reputation & low price.
Avon is the only company I know of that will ship your orders to you on credit & let you pay with your second order!
You can make money. However, I would consider this a suplemental income, at least until you are WAY ahead of me!
