If you are not notified of a bill are you still responsible for paying it?
In a nutshell my husband put his account on military hold when he deployed last February. I called Sprint sometime last March to pay my bill and came to find out that we owed $ 664.00 on his account due to an original bill and late fees/termination/cancellation fees. The account had never been put on military hold because these were never paid. The problem is (and I have been going round and round with Sprint for the past 8 months about this), I was never notified of a remaining balance or any original bill in the first place! No phone call, no mail, no email, nothing. A few days ago a letter shows up at my door from a collection agency trying to collect the amount in full! So obviously Sprint has my address correct, plus I get my phone bills every month!
Sprint is responsible for the mix up and I am taking this to the corporate level with a lawyer if I have to!
Are there laws regarding this? If you are not notified of a remaining balance or bill are you responsible for it? Plus, I know I'm not responsible for the late fees and cancellation fees because the account was supposed to be on military hold in the first place. I will fight corporate America and win, Sprint can kiss my ass!
