Worker's compensation and taxes?

I had a minor accident at work and had 8 days off. I was paid as regular sick leave, which I was taxed on.

Subsequently my worker's compensation claim was accepted, and I should have been paid as a worker's comp claim during those 8 days, and would not have had to pay tax on that pay.

How do I go about getting that overpayment of tax back?

File a tax return next year.

If you repaid the sick leave your payroll records should be adjusted.

You would probably go through your employer since they took it out and repay the sick leave to them.

You need to talk to your employer or his/her payroll department to make the necessary adjustments to reimburse.
