Stopping Phone Solicitors! HELP!?

At my business I've started getting auto dial solicitations 20-30 times a day (I've counted). I put our number on the Do Not Call list AND I've tried asking to have our # removed but they hang up on me as soon as I start to ask for removal. They call on a line that I don't have caller ID on. HELP!

get caller ID installed on that line so you at least know who you are getting calls from. You can then at least look up the company and talk to someone who isn't a telemarketer!

Found this... "While you may be able to register a business number, your registration will not make telephone solicitations to that number unlawful." at this site.

Since this is a business number you will probably not have much luck doing anything about this using the NO CALL LIST rules. But receiving 20-30 calls a day from the same number sounds like that might be harassment. Here is information on stopping harassing phone calls. http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs3-hrs2.htm

Or maybe the best plan if you are getting all the calls from the same number is to ask your phone company how to block that number. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/callerid.html

there is a national do not call registry, if you place your phone number on the registry, they are not allowed to call you, but it does take time to be ineffect. if they continue to call then you should be polite like you are interested in their promotion, get a name and number of the individual calling and report them.
