I am an at-home medical transcriptionist and have sustained neck and shoulder strain while performing my job. I want to know if this would be covered by workers compensation. I do not want to make a claim with my employer unless I know it would be covered for fear of reprisal.
Of note, I am provided a W2 form each year and thus am not an independent contractor.

Only if you are still on the employers pay roll. If you are on 10-99 commission only pay you are technically and independent agent.

For specifics you will need to contact the agency that regulates workers' compensation in your state. Laws vary from state to state. As a general rule, if the injury occurred while "on-the-clock" it does not matter your location. Home, work or otherwise....the main factor is whether or not you were working on the clock.
My statement assumes that you are actually an "employee" and not just an independent contractor. Many people who work from home in your situation are independent contractors. If you receive a W-2 each year, then you are considered an employee. If you receive a 1099 as your tax document, then you are an independent contractor and most likely you will not have workers' compensation coverage.

yes you would be covered by workers comp, however I get the idea that you believe that you are protected by some law when you said fear of reprisal, there is no law in any state that says you can not be let go while on workers comp
