Anyone worked in a solicitors?

I had an interview yesterday and have been phoned for a trial day at a solicitors tomorrow as a receptionist/secretary and would like to know what a typical day in a solicitors office is like. And any other information or advice you can give me. Thanks! X

It's boring, tedious work with alot of rejection. Prepare yourself.

I did work experience at a solicitors, in the post room. However, I spent a lot of time with the receptionists and although it seemed a pretty tedious job, they all said that the day went quickly for them and they gained a lot of respect from the solicitors employed there. Besides that, it's good money [=

I was the work experience girl at one.
In the morning I was sent out to get skimmed milk and The Sun from Iceland. So tea and tabloids may feature highly.
It was quite small, so the secretary would often do photocopying/scanning/filing as well as me, but it'll probably depend on how large a place it is. There main job seemed was dealing with and directing phonecalls and welcoming clients. Sneakily reading interesting cases on the photocopier was good, but it was generally dull. Then again, all the dull tasks were palmed off on me, so hopefully you'll have more luck. If all else fails, make sure you can entertain intricate fantasy lives to keep yourself sane.
