Our cars had no damages as we only skimmed each other. There were only minor colour marks on our bumpers. I cleaned my off and there was no visible damage. We exchanged insurance details
I informed my insurance company and provided them with drawings/sketches how the accident occurred and that I was not my fault fully as the other drivers maneuver initiated the accident.
They said they would deal with it and take care of it.

Now I received a county court letter for and road traffic and accident claim from the other person as me the defendant. The total sum for me to pay is £976 which included accumulated tax(£26), and cost for her solicitor (£70).
Also the court hearing is going to be in Sheffield, which is strange because we both live in London, where the accident happened. I'm confused why this would happen, I had no warning, nor was the fault completely mine.
This is crazy, what do I do? Most of all I am currently unemployed and no job seekers allowance.

Call your solicitor, some take cases without fee.
You might want to ask your insurance company why they didn't take care of it too.

Answer by you are all in my heart forever
call the insurance agency and have them take care of it. that's what you pay them for. she must have been told no and now wants money. people can file whatever they want. doesn't mean they'll win either

This sounds like a scam notify your insurance right away.

You need to contact your insurance company again as I don't think that letter should have ever come to you at all. That is why we have insurance companies in the first place. Plus I would also consult with your solicitor on the possibility of counter claiming especially if it was the other driver whom caused the accident.

get yourself a solicitor and inform your insurance company. i hope you kept copies of all your drawings and correspondence.

I had similar happen to me in a multi story carpark, apparently i hit a parked car and then parked 3 spaces away and walked away. i had police turn up at my house and they ttok my car for examination, i had to go to court and the woman who apparently saw me hit this car didnt turn up in court and it was dropped. i was given 269.00 damages and costs paid. it turned out the woman whose car was hit had no insurance for her audi tt which at the time was brand new, and she had smashed it herself, i was the scape goat needed for the repair bill

Contact your insurance company and refer the complaint to them. They will refer the matter to one of their defense attorneys. They will defend and indemnify you pursuant to the terms of your insurance contract.

Let your insurance company handle this. Sounds "fishy" to me.
